Eye allergy:

Eye allergy or eye inflammation is a very common disease that results from a viral, bacterial or other microorganism infection. And it is accompanied by symptoms of itching, redness, watery eyes, pain, in addition to some symptoms that cause great inconvenience to the patient. Eye inflammation does not pose a danger, but when neglected in treating it, the infection may spread, and cause permanent damage to the eye and the ability to see.

Eye allergy occurs throughout the year, but it is more prevalent in the spring, summer and fall seasons as a result of weather changes.

Causes of eye allergy:

* Exposure to dust and dirt as they are loaded with germs.

* Pollen during the spring

* Seasonal allergies

* Some biological materials such as: fluff and animal hair.

* High temperature

* Exposure to sunlight, especially ultraviolet rays

Smoke and vehicle exhaust

* Having an immune system disorder

* The presence of a genetic factor for allergy

Perfumes or cosmetics

* Chemical preservatives in different types of eye drops

Symptoms of eye allergy:

* Redness in the eyelid

* Itch

* Burning eye

Sensation of the presence of foreign bodies

* Sensation of roughness in the surface of the eye

* Bleeding a lot

* Dry Eye

* a headache.

 

Prevention of eye allergy:

* Prevention of allergens

* Avoid eating foods that cause allergies

* Drink a good amount of water

* Do not use contact lenses

* Keep windows closed during the pollen season.

* Wear glasses outside to avoid pollen.

* Use dust-proof cloth covers.

* Wash hands after petting animals.

* not rubbing your eyes

 

 

Eye allergy treatment:

Eye allergy is treated by relieving symptoms that cause discomfort to the patient through:

* Using some eye moisturizers from artificial tears, which play a major role in relieving symptoms

* Decongestants, because they narrow the blood vessels in the eye and thus reduce redness associated with eye allergies

* Antihistamines, which relieve itchy eyes and reduce swelling of the eyes.

* Anti-inflammatory drops

* Corticosteroid drops, which work to relieve persistent itching
